- That the user knows what they are looking for. (Google search, content tagging, labels)
- That the user generally knows what the want, but need assistance to find the specifics. (This is where a set taxonomy comes in. (http://delicious.com/ and social bookmarking sites, menus on a website, RSS, folders)
- To be allowed to be part of a "in-group." This removes the feeling of ignorance, allows people to be aware of a path and influences, and to offering a way to communicate feedback that will make a difference. (Email, DLs, Blogs, Wiki's)
